I’m pleased to announce that in 2018, CBF/GA youth are invited to participate in the Youth Winter Summit at FBC Huntsville, Alabama, January 12-14, 2018! In 2015, a few Georgia churches attended this event, and after hearing about more about their experiences I thought it was worth considering a partnership for this event. I’ve now attended several planning meetings and I can say that I truly believe this is going to be a first-class event for students. There will be ties for worship, fellowship, small groups and , of course fun. Josh Griffin and Sharon Irving will provide excellent worship leadership, and FBC of Huntsville is a wonderful location for such an event. The event cost is $69 per person, but please note that this does not include your overnight accommodations. There is a group block of rooms at the nearby Embassy Suites with a discounted rate of $119 per night and you will need to make your own hotel reservations. Registration is now open and i will be handled through Alabama CBF. You are certainly welcome to call or e-mail me if you have questions about this event. We hope you will consider adding this to your student ministry calendar for 2011. We have seen several changes in our CBF/GA events over the past couple of years. One of those changes came as we decided to end our fall student retreat known as ReCharge. This particular event offered a time of retreat and spiritual development for middle and high school students. The congregational life committee and I have been in constant conversation about how we can continue to help our CBF/GA churches without simply adding another event to our calendar. I have fond over the last year that there is great value in partnering with other CBF state and regional organizations in both large and small ways. After all, we each have similar goals, and oftentimes the people and churches we are working with are the same.
