The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia would like to help connect Baptist ministers wishing to relocate with Baptist churches that have vacancies.

The office maintains two kinds of confidential files: o­ne of ministers open to moving and another of church positions.

We share information with search committees and encourage them to follow through according to their needs and God’s leadership. While this office does not make recommendations, we do forward information to churches wishing to fill a position.

We ask that ministers who wish our assistance in searching for a new position:

  • Complete a “Minister Seeking Church Form.” Information o­n this form is kept confidential but helps our office know your current situation as well as the kind of situation with which to share information.
  • Provide us with an electronic version of their current resume.

This office serves to receive resumes from ministers who share them with us and forward them to churches making requests for this information.

We encourage churches to follow their own procedures and thoroughly check references to evaluate the suitability of prospective candidates.

We ask that churches who wish our assistance in searching for ministers:

  • Complete a “Church Seeking Minister Form” indicating specifics about the staff vacancy and other information about the church. Information on this form is kept confidential.

On November 29, 1847, a small group of Baptist worshipers gathered to constitute a church – which is now First Baptist Church of Dalton. The church grew and developed over the years. Programs for youth and children were soon included as important components of Christian education. Bible study is still a key part of First Baptist’s identity. Excellent music is also important to worship and Christian education. In 1981, with the opening of the Family Life Center, a program of activities was begun to include physical and fellowship events in addition to spiritual disciplines.
