Making God’s Compassion Visible – Church Benefits Board
The Church Benefits Board, Inc. (CBB), is a ministry of CBF, created in 1998 by the General Assembly to provide retirement benefits for ministers and staff members of churches that are affiliated with CBF, along with CBF field personnel serving worldwide.
Our mission goes beyond delivering a robust and comprehensive retirement plan benefit. CBB helps its clients maintain their benefit packages, including life and disability benefits, as well as provide medical insurance for international missions. CBB also recently launched the Financial Wellness Initiative to assist ministers in tackling debt and building a financial plan.
As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, the Church Benefits Board is experiencing unprecedented growth. In 2008, the total participants in our church retirement plan was 326. After years of steady growth — each year an increase over the previous year — as of 9/30/23, the total number of participants grew to 1,308. In 2008, the total assets were at $14,406,689; as of 9/30/23, they reached $107,448,743. As Church Benefits Board grows, we are able to leverage greater collective strength to serve our participants and employers better.
