BWIM of Georgia Announces Scholarship Recipient Baptist Women in Ministry of Georgia’s Sarah Owen Ethridge Scholarship recipient for this year is Maggie Parker Andrews. Maggie began to feel her call to ministry when
she joined a youth choir called Jubilate. A combined choir of 5 separate youth choirs from around the Southeast, Jubilate met each January over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend to learn music and perform together. They also gathered in the summer to tour and sing in places like the Human Rights Museum in Washington, D.C., homeless shelters, and prisons.

Maggie graduated from Agnes Scott College. While in college Maggie realized that in addition to music, she also has a passion for teaching. Maggie served as youth intern for a church in Decatur while in undergraduate school, and her mentor encouraged her to go to Seminary after she graduated. Maggie will graduate from McAfee School
of Theology in May of 2023 with an M.Div. with a trauma specialization. In addition to teaching, Maggie is interested in trauma ministry and plans to apply for a Ph.D. program in the field of either pastoral care or trauma ministry.
