Ramadan Thoughts 2015, from Wayne Martin

 Ramadan 2015

Many of our holidays are carnival scenes with bands and parades.

On such days each year, we beat our drums reliving the cherished times of the past...

Maybe a birthday or that of our loved ones...or the day we landed on these shores...

Our wedding day...or any of the significant occasions that made a difference in our lives.

People of faith also have special days and sacred occasions that are faithfully observed...

While the dates of such times may vary each year, they are as beloved as anyone’s ‘holidays.’

They too are treasured times—for sacred observance—and less for ‘fun’ and ‘frolic.’

More hallowed moments meant to enrich one's spiritual journey...

And grip one's soul and shape one’s spirit.
